As with all SaaS, the Chromebook is simply manipulating information on a distant server, and securing the Chromebook’s hardware isn’t enough to secure that distant server.
While there are existing Android and Linux-based security apps that can technically be installed to protect Chromebooks too, those only protect the locally installed apps in a limited manner and are not able to protect activity that remains in the browser and in the cloud, which is how most SaaS apps function.
